Money does not buy you sense

Money does not buy you sense

India is the only country in the world that has ever refused me a visa. As a young student in the early 1980s backed financially by my savings and a London-based charity, I wanted to volunteer in India in one of their rural projects. The refusal letter stated India could solve its own social problems. This weekend 12.-14.07.2024 the world's most lavish weddings costing in excess of $ 250 Mio. takes place in India.

The youngest son of the richest man in India gets married. His overweight figure and long hair make him the perfect match for a very slim Beauty from another very rich Indian family. A provincial airport was declared an International Airport with soldiers stationed to host the incoming flights from celebrities like Toni Blair, Boris Johnson, Justin Bieber, and Kim Kardashian among others. The streets of Mumbai around the wedding venue are declared as public events space for a private wedding.

In 2023 the German Government decided to give up to € 1 Billion until 2030 in AID support to India which is a nuclear powerhouse sending rockets into space, not a loan with preferred interest rates claiming this AID support would come back to Germany many times more, a hope not a guarantee and a target which could have been achieved equally with a loan facility.

The wealth of the richest man of India and his to-be in-laws had been over generations generated primarily on Indian soil. With wisdom and for sight the private fortune was made in India and beyond. Blessed people like that are not only private people but public figures more so than short-term politicians very much comparable to the generation responsibilities Kings carry on their shoulders.

As much as they could argue they can spend their private fortune on whatever they want is legally possible but doesn't give sense to a rich man. The arranged marriage between the richest and second richest Indian families only makes sense as to stand firmly in unity together in the likely event that one day the Indian government will take away from the rich and give to the poor or the poor will arise and take their rightful place in history.

For paid foreign celebrities to be part of the event is selfishness over wisdom. That even politicians of the West will show up to give their blessings to the couple exposes once more that democracy is not necessarily the birthplace of wisdom.

African Kingdoms live on Kingdom money as well as the business activities of their current Kings. Traditions to expose are costly and in the environment of poverty all around must be carefully and mindfully orchestrated to send out a powerful message of responsibility and sense.
