NPP SSNIT hotels sale: Finding millions of dollars, cedis in a ‘Borla Minister’s’ house shows NPP is a create, loot, share gov’t —Afaglo

Novihoho Afaglo, CEO of Marrer Ghana Limited, Susatgad Boat Building and Fishing Industry, has condemned the attempt to sell Labadi Beach Hotel, La Palm Royal Beach, Elmina Beach Resorts, Trust Lodge Hotel, and Busia Beach Resort, describing it as part of a grand scheme of corruption by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

Afaglo likened this deal to the Agyapa Deal and the PDS scandal, asserting that it demonstrates the NPP’s intention to "loot and share" rather than serve the interests of the state and its citizens.

He has criticized the government for consistently engaging in questionable deals since taking office in 2017, none of which have benefited the state or its citizens, but rather enriched the party and its affiliates.

"How can state assets be sold to a cabinet minister if the president and those around him are not corrupt What serious country would oversee such a deal if it truly cared for its citizens?" Afaglo questioned.

He highlighted the inconsistency of selling profitable state assets without the permission and consent of workers, questioning the rationale behind such decisions.

He pointed out that assets like Labadi Beach Hotel and Ridge Royal are more profitable than Rock City Hotel, owned by Bryan Acheampong, which is seeking to purchase these state assets.

"Tell me, if this is not a 'create, loot, and share' scheme, what would you call it? It’s only under an NPP government where millions of dollars and cedis can be found in a 'Borla Minister's' house. Imagine what might be hidden in the finance minister’s chamber," Afaglo said.
