The third edition of the African Women in Agribusiness Awards (WiAA) will be held in November this year.

This has been announced by organisers, Guzakuza.
The African Women in Agribusiness Awards was birthed three years ago after Guzakuza realised that there were many award schemes, but none specifically for women in agribusiness on the continent.

Since then, the African Women in Agribusiness Awards have been held annually to recognise and celebrate women trailblazers in the industry.

Guzakuza on Friday, June 21, held a virtual launch of this year's African Women in Agribusiness Awards and the Women in Agribusiness Week.

Today, nominations have been officially opened ahead of the awards ceremony in November.

This year’s awards ceremony will climax what will be the 5th Women in Agribusiness Week.

Speaking as part of the launch, the initiator and Lead of Guzakuza, Nana Adjoa Sifa Amponsah assured that this year’s African Women in Agribusiness Awards and the Women in Agribusiness Week will be bigger and better.

On her part, the Director of Women in Agriculture Development Directorate under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Madam Paulina Addy commended Guzakuza and Nana Adjoa Sifa for celebrating Women in Agribusiness.

She said, “Nana Adjoa is doing a great job and deserves a pat on her ball for all the things she is doing for women in agribusiness.”

She extended an advanced congratulatory message to winnings of this year’s African Women in Agribusiness Awards and admonished them to aim higher.

“We pledge our support at all times to whatever you will do. I applaud the awardees for this year and I know they will stick to the tenets of the programme you are running to have their lives transformed and the many out there.

“Let’s dwell on the gains and take advantage of the opportunities out there,” Madam Paulina Addy.
