President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has waved into the planned sale of SSNIT hotels.
The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) is in the process of finalizing a deal to sell a 60% stake in four of its hotels to a private investor.
Rock City Hotel Ltd owned by Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong is said to be leading in the race to buy the stake in the SSNIT hotels.
In the last couple of weeks, Bryan Acheampong has been criticised for the involvement of Rock City Hotel Ltd in the sale of the SSNIT hotels.
Sharing his view on the matter, Franklin Cudjoe has indicated that he is yet to see any wrong done by SSNIT and Bryan Acheampong.
“Frankly, SSNIT has done nothing wrong in divesting the hotels. Alternative sale values should be suggested by those who disagree. Finally, I am yet to hear any concrete proof that Bryn Acheampong stole public money to engage in any business. Those are the matters that really matter,” the IMANI Africa President said.
According to Mr. Cudjoe, he will never support government in managing the SSNIT hotels and any other commercial enterprise.
“I will never support any government entity to manage commercial enterprise in Ghana,” Franklin Cudjoe said.
