Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated that his experience and disposition are needed at this time to provide leadership to address Ghana's numerous challenges.
In a post shared on his social media pages on Saturday, June 22, the 2024 presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) indicated that real work is required to regain the public's trust in democratic governance.
The country has experienced economic downturn in recent times, with rising living costs exacerbating hardship for many Ghanaians.
There is growing public dissatisfaction with democracy due to high unemployment rates and what many deem poor management of the economy.
As a former President from 2012 to 2016, Mahama believes his expertise puts him in good stead to resolve Ghana's problems.
He reiterated his ability and temperament to steer the country back on track through transparent, accountable and people-centered leadership.
"Real work must go into winning back our people’s trust in democratic governance and structures.
“My experience and disposition are needed at this moment to provide the leadership necessary to address our myriad problems,” reads his post.
