Senior political science lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon, Prof. Ransford Gyampo has stressed that it is unfair for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to use National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) machinations to impose a running mate on its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to him, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia must be allowed to choose his preferred running mate just as President Akufo-Addo was allowed to do the same in the past.
“NADAA selected DMB who was considered an alien as his running mate and stood his grounds to get his party to accept him. It is unfair to use NIB machinations to impose a candidate on DMB simply bcos some still see him as alien,” Prof. Ransford Gyampo said in a post on Facebook.
In other posts, Prof. Ransford Gyampo questioned the motive behind the recent survey by the National Intelligence Bureau which revealed that Energy Minister Mathew Opoku Prempeh is the preferred choice of running mate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
For the political science lecturer, it does not matter who is eventually named as Dr. Bawumia’s running mate.
He is of the view that the most important thing is that the NPP flagbearer must be allowed to choose his running mate, just as President Akufo-Addo was allowed to do the same.
“The party must not impose anyone on him. He has a mind of his own,” Prof. Ransford Gyampo stressed.

And what are Ghanaians to do with the CHILDISH ARROGANCE of this wretched, naive Asante man? Matthew Opoku-Prempeh has been doing "dumsor" (power outages) in Ghana for the past SIX months, then JOKES about th...
