Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Obuasi-East, Edward Ennin is unsure Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia can lead the country as President.
His scepticism comes from the delay in the naming of a running mate by the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking to Onua FM in an interview, Edward Ennin said if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia cannot make a small decision like naming a running mate, then how can he make bigger decisions when he is voted President?
“What amazes me is that former President Kuffour clearly and openly chose his running mate, and so did Akufo-Addo. Now it is Dr. Bawumia’s time to decide who he wants, and the information that keeps reaching us is that people in the Jubilee House do not like the candidate Dr. Bawumia prefers.
“If you are a flagbearer of a major party like the NPP and you’re being frightened to choose the running mate you like, then how can he be president? Is he not a man? The constitution has given him the right to choose, is he not man enough to?”
“How can he be President if a small decision like this he can’t make because people are influencing him? Then he can’t do the job,” the former Obuasi-East MP argued.
In the interview, Mr. Edward Ennin opined that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia does not have the boldness to be president.
Although it has not been officially announced, several reports suggest that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has settled on Energy Minister Mathew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate.
