A vote for Bawumia and NPP is a vote to cover up crimes and corruption in Akufo-Addo’s regime

The loyalty of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia toward President Akufo-Addo is unquestionable. Dr. Bawumia is fully aware that he couldn’t have become the Vice President let alone the Flagbearer of the NPP now if Akufo-Addo did not stick with him as the Running Mate of the NPP for three consecutive times and won the elections in his 3rd attempt in 2016.

Dr. Bawumia is also fully aware that the 3 powerful relatives of his boss, namely Gabby Otchere Darko, Nana Bediatou and Ken Ofori-Atta involved in corruption-related allegations under this regime, and they supported him to be the Flagbearer of the NPP.

Your guess is as good as mine, if Dr. Bawumia were to be elected as the next President of Ghana immediately after the outgoing Nana Akufo-Addo.

Dr. Bawumia knowing that decerning Ghanaian Voters are doubting his commitment to fighting or curtailing corruption, he claims to be his own man when voted into power in 2025. His claim is just a smokescreen, and this strategy will not work well for him in the upcoming general elections because Ghanaians are fed up with Akufo-Addo and Bawumia’s deceits and poor performance and outcomes of their policies whilst in government.

I have a few rhetoritcal questions for the decerning Ghanaian Voters to ponder over before the fast-approaching December general elections get to us in our various Polling stations:

  1. How do we expect Dr. Bawumia to go into the botched PDS deal and properly investigate it when he was equally complicit in changing ‘condition precedent’ to ‘condition subsequent?
  2. Will Dr. Bawumia have the gut to investigate and prosecute Gabby, Bediatou and Ofori-Atta in his government for their wrong deals under Akufo-Addo’s regime, of which Dr. Bawumia is part?
  3. Does Dr. Bawumia, the Mate, have any modicum of credibility and sincerity to carry out what he is promising again to deliver if Ghanaians make him the main driver after Akufo-Addo with whom they are recklessly driving Ghana?
  4. Is this Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led government not an under-performing one with mediocre outcomes and creating general hardships coupled with lack of decent jobs for the teeming unemployed in the country?

All the above questions asked have negative answers, in my opinion, for many decerning Readers and Voters. I am of the strongest opinion that Dr. Bawumia is highly likely to try very hard to cover up crimes and corruption committed in Akufo-Addo’s regime, of which he is fully part. Therefore, a vote for Bawumia and the NPP is a vote to cover up crimes and corruption in Akufo-Addo’s regime. Corruption, and galamsey operations have defeated Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia and the NPP as a whole and this regime should be shown the exit when we go to the upcoming polls in December 2024.

The obvious choice to make on December 7, 2024, is to vote out Dr. Bawumia and the NPP and replace the current regime with former President Mahama and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang of the NDC to ensure true accountability and commitment to fight against the worsening corruption phenomenon in the country.

The NDC Presidential ticket of Mahama & Jane is the most promising and attractive ticket to vote for in December. Former President Mahama has demonstrable experience and competence coupled with his visionary leadership skills to ensure that Ghana is rescued from the rippling Akufo-Addo-Bawumia-led regime and restored our nation back to its status of a beacon of democracy and Gateway to Africa.
