The 2024 elections present a pivotal opportunity for Ghana to renew its path towards prosperity and good governance, according to Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Writing on Facebook Friday, June 21, Fifi Kwetey argued the elections will be "crucial" for the country to escape the "severe economic hardships, high unemployment, and pervasive corruption" it currently faces under the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
"Ghana faces severe economic hardships, high unemployment, and pervasive corruption. The 2024 elections are crucial for our nation's renewal," Fifi Kwetey stated.
He said NDC presidential candidate and former president John Dramani Mahama offers "unmatched Vision, Experience, Credibility, and a proven Track Record, promising to lead Ghana towards recovery and prosperity."
The NDC chief scribe accused the NPP of subjecting Ghanaians to "over seven years of hardship," citing "rampant corruption" and "frequent scandals" that have "desensitizing the public."
"Leadership paralysis has left the nation in disarray, characterized by extreme corruption, abuse of power, and incompetence," he lamented.
By contrast, Fifi Kwetey praised Mahama's "visionary leadership" which "aims to rescue Ghana, reset our trajectory, and restore progress" through a commitment to "transparency, accountability, and inclusive development."
He urged Ghanaians to "rally behind John Mahama for a brighter future and a new dawn of hope and progress" by choosing a leader with "Vision, Experience, Credibility, and a proven Track Record" to navigate the country's challenges.
