President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has congratulated Cyril Ramaphosa on his re-election as President of South Africa.

In a statement posted on his social media pages on Wednesday, June 19, Akufo-Addo expressed his warm congratulations to Ramaphosa on securing another term in office.

"Your re-election is a vindication of the trust and confidence reposed in you by the Members of the Parliament of South Africa, and by your party, the African National Congress (ANC)," Akufo-Addo said in the statement.

Akufo-Addo acknowledged that the South African people, through their vote, had demonstrated their commitment to unity and shared governance.

He said he is confident that under Ramaphosa's continued leadership, South Africa would reinforce its position as a champion of progress and prosperity on the African continent.

"A strong, united, and prospering South Africa is indeed a great force for progress in Africa," Akufo-Addo stated.

With Ramaphosa's re-election coming at a crucial time as Africa strives for economic recovery and development, Akufo-Addo expressed belief that South Africa would attain greater heights and make significant progress towards realizing goals of social development and continental integration under Ramaphosa's leadership.

The Ghanaian President looked forward to working closely with Ramaphosa to enhance bilateral relations between their countries and advance collective interests across Africa.

He wished Ramaphosa success in his new term and good health as South Africa's president.
