Senior political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon, Prof. Ransford Gyampo has criticised the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for failing to admit the reality of hardships in the country.

According to him, this makes the campaign of NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia annoying.

In a post on Facebook, Prof. Ransford Gyampo said it appears the ruling NPP government assumes that all Ghanaians are fools.

“The lack of humility in admitting the reality of hardships and the fact that this has been an experience of a whirlwind, makes the campaign annoying as it assumes all are fools and can’t distinguish between light and day,” Prof. Ransford Gyampo said in his post.

He continued, “This is no hatred. It is pure reality talk and it doesn’t matter if it affects those who are politically mad and cannot see and say things as they are, as a way of getting things done right for all Ghanaians.”

Although Ghanaians blame the ruling NPP for the hardships in the country, the government insists that it has performed well.

Government led by flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is optimistic about winning the 2024 general election to retain power.
