Vice President and flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia received an endorsement for his digitalisation agenda by the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs during his recent visit to the region.
Dr Bawumia is in the Ashanti region on a 3-day campaign tour, where he is outlining his major policy initiatives as well as achievements under the current Akufo-Addo-led administration.
As part of the tour, Dr Bawumia paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs, chaired by the Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II on Monday, June 10.
In his remarks, the Mamponghene praised Dr Bawumia's focus on digital transformation, describing the policies as "very good and laudable."
He specifically highlighted how digitalisation would permeate all aspects of Ghanaian society under the agenda.
"The policies you’ve touched on are in detail. These are very good and laudable, especially the digitalisation agenda which permeates through practically everything.
“Even babies would be born with ID cards and these new things are dear to our heart as traditional and I urge you to be bold and implement it to the latter,” the occupant of the Silver Stool of the Ashanti kingdom said.
