NPP Election 2024: Mahama has been tried, tested and woefully rejected twice; Ghanaians are fed up with him —NPP MP
TUE, 11 JUN 2024

Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, Member of Parliament for Anyaa-Sowutuom, has stated that Ghanaians are fed up with the Presidential Candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and are not hoping for his comeback.

In his submission on Peace FM’s 'Kokrokoo' morning show on Monday, June 10, Dr. Adomako opined that the NDC could have presented a more formidable candidate - someone with a good standing other than the former President, John Dramani Mahama who has been known as corrupt.

According to the Anyaa-Sowutuom lawmaker, the former President has been tried and tested and was woefully rejected by the Ghanaian electorates on two occasions.

He said, “This election will not be easy for any of us but we are hoping that, when things turn around for us, it will be favourable for the NPP. The unfortunate thing for the NDC, as I have always posited, is that Mahama has been tried and tested and denied twice.

“The NDC should have realised this and brought another candidate. That is the only thing I think is waning the NDC of their votes.

“Asiedu Nketia is trying so hard but he should know that the candidate you present makes a huge difference.

“Maybe it's too late to change a candidate but that is another important factor in the chain of events. Ghanaians are fed up with Mahama.”

Commenting on the upcoming December 2024 elections, Dr. Adomako Kissi pointed out that, with the recent happenings within the political space in India, it is one thing that no politician should be oblivious about, especially the party in power.

India's beleaguered democracy was pulled back from the brink, with Narendra Modi losing his majority for the very first time in ten years, giving way for the opposition party to re-emerge as a force to reckon with.

Dr. Adomako stated that Indians' experience should give the governing NPP a cue to be measured in their optimism.

“We are excited but with India's experience, I am a bit careful in my optimism,” he warns.

He further stated that the NDC has no campaign message while the flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is doing all he can to make his life-changing vision known to all Ghanaians and the international communities.
