Richard Ahiagbah, Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asserted that the Volta Region will prioritize vision over sentiment in the 2024 elections.
Despite being a stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ahiagbah believes the region lacks a clear development plan from the NDC's flagbearer.
Ahiagbah criticized the NDC for taking the Volta Region for granted over the years and emphasized the vision of NPP's Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the region.
In a tweet on X, Ahiagbah urged the Volta Region to support Bawumia, highlighting his plans to boost economic activity, create jobs, and increase regional export production.
"Bawumia’s leadership will establish Special Economic Zones or free zones in border towns, including Aflao in the Ketu South Constituency," Ahiagbah stated.
He argued that a Free Zone enclave would be a game-changer for the region, something the NDC's John Mahama lacks in his plans.
"The development of the Volta Region will inform our votes in 2024, not sentiment," Ahiagbah concluded, challenging former President Mahama to present his vision for the region.
