ASA Savings and Loans Ltd has made a donation to Otabilkrom Health Centre at Otabilkrom, Agona West, Swedru in the Central Region.
The donation made on Thursday, May 16, is to help improve the delivery of healthcare at the centre.
Items donated include an air conditioner, a television set, a fridge, and six dustbins.
Speaking after receiving the items, Mr. Gideon Agyare, facility head of Otabilkrom Health Centre expressed appreciation to ASA Savings and Loans for the kind gesture.
“Our appreciation stems from the fact that these items have been on the list of felt needs of the health centre for a long time. Items will actually improve services and help patients. It is against this background that we extend these special thanks and gratitude to ASA Savings and Loans Limited and all of the various stakeholders.
“God bless you and the entire staff of ASA Savings and Loans Ltd. We promise to take care of the items and use it for the intended purpose for which it was donated,” Mr. Gideon Agyare said.
At the short presentation ceremony, the Area Manager of ASA Savings and Loans in Swedru, Mr. Mohammad Nasimul Islam said the donation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) activities.
According to him, the support for Otabilkrom Health Centre is for the centre to be able to provide better medical service to the community people.
“Through this, the health of the rural people will recover quickly. If people's health is not good they cannot do any work. Their daily income is cut off then they will face poverty. Therefore all organizations should support to all the hospitals if they will develop medical services for rural people,” Mr. Mohammad Nasimul Islam said.
He further stressed that ASA Savings and Loans Ltd is committed to meeting the needs of stakeholders through CSR to foster developmental change and living standards.
Speaking on a health screening exercise organised by ASA Savings and Loans for the Otabilkrom community, Branch Manager Mr. Prince Nana Kwaku Yasi explained that it is essential for needy people.
He added that the gesture is to help the needy as has been done by the company in the past.
