Mamprugu Ndugna Nayiri Naa Bohugu Abdulai Sheriga, the revered Overlord of Mamprugu and President of the North East Regional House of Chiefs, has expressed confidence in the leadership potential of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, affirming his belief that Dr. Bawumia can elevate Ghana to greater heights if elected as President.

Speaking at a gathering between Dr. Bawumia and the North East Regional House of Chiefs in Nalerigu, Nayiri Naa Bohugu stressed his conviction in Dr. Bawumia's ability to uphold Ghana's good name and foster national progress.

In a speech read on his behalf, Nayiri conveyed his deep faith in Dr. Bawumia's capacity, stating, "I am deeply persuaded that you have it in you to carry out the task ahead.

"You can rise to the challenge and uphold the good name of Ghana and make her greater and stronger.”

The Mamprugu Overlord lauded Dr. Bawumia's exemplary record as Vice President and applauded his contributions to local community development and national unity.

He assured Dr Bawumia of the steadfast support of the people, expressing a commitment to rally behind him in his bid for the presidency.

“As we prepare for election this year, the least we can do for you, as the son of the soil is to honour you with the opportunity to serve at the highest echelon of state power…We shall not turn our back on you, especially having demonstrated competence, loyalty, resilience and more importantly regard to the institution of Chieftaincy," he said.

Dr. Bawumia's visit to the North East region forms part of his broader engagement with various stakeholders nationwide.

In addition to meeting with members of the Regional House Chiefs, the NPP Flagbearer has been actively engaging with religious leaders, Zongo Chiefs, youth groups, and community members.
