Nana Ofori Owusu, Chairman of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), has criticised the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for its failure to provide Ghanaians with a load-shedding timetable amidst ongoing power cuts, locally known as "dumsor".

In a discussion on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, Nana Owusu expressed deep concern over the detrimental impact of erratic electricity supply on businesses and communities across the nation.

He condemned the ECG's lack of transparency and accountability, emphasising the urgent need for clear communication and direction from the authorities.

"The Ministry of Energy and the electricity suppliers, particularly ECG, are solely responsible for the plight of Ghanaians as a result of the power cuts," he stated.

Nana Owusu indicated that the absence of a comprehensive power schedule leaves citizens in the dark.

He further stressed the importance of providing a guide to help Ghanaians plan their activities and mitigate the adverse effects of power disruptions on their livelihoods.

"We need direction. Leaders must come and tell us directions. You are there; you are accountable to the people. You have collected our money.

“We pay taxes. You owe us to make sure we have lights. You are not doing us any favour...This thing is becoming unbecoming!" Owusu exclaimed, expressing the frustration and dissatisfaction of Ghanaians.
