Geoffrey Kabutey Ocansey, Executive Director of Revenue Mobilisation Africa, has strongly criticized the management of the recurring power outages, known as 'dumsor', by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.

During an interview on Citi TV’s Breakfast Daily show, Ocansey expressed disappointment at the government's apparent lack of understanding regarding the timing of power outages, resulting in the absence of a load management timetable for the public.

Comparing the current situation to the previous administration under John Dramani Mahama, often criticized for incompetence by members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ocansey highlighted the ability of the former government to provide a clear timetable for dumsor, enabling Ghanaians to better plan their daily activities.

He voiced frustration at the current administration's struggle to release a timetable despite its perceived competence.

Ocansey's remarks were prompted by statements attributed to former NPP flagbearer hopeful, Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku, indicating the challenges in developing a schedule for the ongoing power cuts.

Expressing disbelief at Poku's remarks, Ocansey emphasized the detrimental combination of arrogance and ignorance, as evident in a recent post on his Facebook wall.

He further criticized the government's failure to plan despite its supposed expertise, contrasting it with the previous administration's ability to devise a schedule despite facing allegations of incompetence.

“Let's consider this: the supposedly incompetent individual managed to create a timetable, but those who claim to have 'the experts'...the experts who were supposed to resolve the situation, cannot even devise a basic schedule. What does that make them?” he questioned.
