Would Signing Anti-Gay Bill into Law Resolve Dumsor and Heal Our Ailing Economy?

Ghanaians are far more discerning and intelligent about the imperative need for the Government to jealously protect the Human and the Civil Rights of each and every one of its citizens than the national development agenda-impoverished leadership of the country’s main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) realizes.

Which is why when the latter party’s Member of Parliament for Builsa-South Constituency, in the Upper-East Region, obtusely accuses the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the widely presumed next President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana, Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, of endorsing the lifestyle of Gay and Lesbian people, Dr. Clement Apaak and his kleptocratic associates of the National Democratic Congress unwittingly expose themselves for the veritable charlatans and the morally irredeemable Machiavellian opportunists that they inescapably are (See “Anti-Gay Bill Brouhaha: Ghanaians Now Know NPP Supports ‘Supi Supi’ – Clement Apaak” Modernghana.com 3/28/24).

He may be too “intellectually unintelligent,” as the renowned African American Human and Civil Rights Activist the Rev. Alford “Al” Sharpton once told a standing-room-only audience of City College of New York of the City University of New York (CCNY of CUNY) students and faculty members. So, maybe some more levelheaded bona fide Ghanaian citizen needs to remind the son of a public schoolteacher mother that the members of Ghana’s majority Akan populace are much too polished and civilized, for the most part, to publicly use such rhetorically crass words as “Trumu Trumu” to refer to the sexual expression of male homosexuals.

Even more significant, “educated idiots” like Dr. Clement Apaak must be told upfront and in blunt language that they have absolutely no right to casually presume to play God, Nyame or Allah, by dictating how any adult Ghanaian citizen decides to express his or her sexuality, so long as they are envisaged to be law-abiding and responsible members of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana. Equally significant to ask is the following question: Why has it taken the late Chairman Jeremiah “Jerry” John Rawlings-founded and chaperoned operatives of the erstwhile junta of the Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC) and the present National Democratic Congress more than three decades to come to a sobering “Come-to-Jesus” realization of the “fact” of the morally objectionable lifestyle of the members of the LGBTQI+ Community?

About the only logical and rational answer for such gross exhibition of moral and intellectual depravity and gross ineptitude is the fact that the leadership of the Johnson “The Mosquito” Asiedu-Nketia- and the John “European Airbus Payola” Dramani Mahama-led National Democratic Congress are pathological liars and political cynics and bullies who have absolutely no respectable sense of ethical probity besides the knavish scoring of cheap political points and vacuous popularity, so that they could finagle and finesse their way back to Jubilee House by hoodwinking a purportedly unsuspecting Ghanaian electorate, so that they could criminally and unconscionably rig up more STX Mega-Heists and more SADA-inspired rip-off of Ghanaian taxpayers.

You see, the overwhelming majority of Ghanaian citizenry are darn too smart to allow the cheap and the mindless scapegoating of the members of the LGBTQI+ Community to be used as an excuse for the epic and the massive failure of the leadership of the populist and faux-socialist National Democratic Congress to establish such socioeconomically indispensable and critical social-intervention programs as the Akufo-Addo-implemented Fee-Free Senior High School System (SHSS), which an incumbent President Mahama cynically disparaged as the practically impossible figment of the hallucinatory imagination of a megalomaniacal politician hellbent on grabbing power by hook or crook, and the John “The Gentle Giant” Agyekum-Kufuor-established National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), which the Cash-and-Carry “Deathcare” policy-promoting scam-artist extant President Mahama royally bankrupted by widely allegedly defunding to support his wobbly and epically failed 2016 Presidential-Election Campaign.

The morally jejune and politically impoverished con-artist likes of Messrs. Apaak, Moses Foh-Amoaning and Samuel George Nartey – aka Sam George – had better come up with a more worthwhile national-development agenda than so scandalously piggybacking on the perfectly “natural,” albeit heterosexually maligned, lifestyle of the members of the Gay and Lesbian and Abrosexual Community. I mean, should my pet aversion or dislike for some non-Akan Ghanaian cultures and languages authorize me to enact a law that makes it criminal to be a native or a member of any of such groups? You just think about it, Dear Reader.
