A dead body of an unidentified man believed to be in his 30s was discovered by police in Dobro, near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

He appeared to have been electrocuted while attempting to steal electrical cables.

The decomposing corpse was located under a high-voltage power pole in a bush known as the ‘Combined Farm’.

It is alleged the man was trying to steal a copper cable connecting lightning arrestors on the pole when he met his demise.

Reports say, a pair of pliers was found near the body, indicating he may have been using the tool in the theft.

The property's security guard alerted the police after finding the remains.

Officers attended the scene to retrieve the body, which was then transported to the police hospital for an autopsy and identification efforts.
