Does Gaslighting Martin Amidu See Crushing Defeat for NDC in Election 2024? – Part 11

Feature Article Does Gaslighting Martin Amidu See Crushing Defeat for NDC in Election 2024? – Part 11
MAR 3, 2024 LISTEN

When Martin Amidu disdainfully talks about key Akufo-Addo operatives desperately scheming to have Vice-President Bawumia succeed a lame-duck President Akufo-Addo at all costs, so that this horrid pack of National Democratic Congress’ look-alikes could peacefully and comfortably enjoy their loot from the public purse, in the memorable words of the former John “The Gentle Giant” Agyekum-Kufuor-appointed Foreign Minister and Minister for ECOWAS Integration, the critic conveniently ignores to mention such NDC-engineered scams as the Mahama-abandoned boondoggle Vice-Presidential Mansion whose officially estimated cost had been criminally pegged at a humongous $12 million (USD) and was being dubiously supervised by a widely alleged Mahama relative who, reportedly, took flight in the wake of Candidate-General John “Gnassingbe” (Ford Expedition Payola) Dramani Mahama’s massive loss of the December 2016 Presidential Election.

On the foregoing score must be promptly noted that at the time of the shocking but hardly surprising discovery of this mega-scam, an obvious boondoggle for the Mahama Posse, Mr. Johnson “The Mosquito” Asiedu-Nketia, the extant General-Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, reckoned the real budgetary value of the aforesaid Vice-Presidential Mansion or Mini-Palace to be worth not more than $3 million (USD). According to the former Deputy Defense Minister in the government of the late President Jeremiah “Jerry” John Rawlings, his latter rough estimate was actually deliberately errant on the liberal side of guesstimates, which simply means that the real construction or market value of the aforesaid Vice-Presidential Boondoggle Mansion was very likely not more than $1.5 million (USD).

Now, this is the Ghana that a politically desperate and megalomaniacal SADA Gravy-Train Candidate Mahama would have Ghanaian citizens and voters collaborate to build together with him, in the highly unlikely event of him being, once again, accidentally sent back to Jubilee House, so that he could disdainfully thumb his nostrils at us and tell us, once again, that we are too low in economic and class status to presume to be endowed with any inalienable constitutional right to criticize his abjectly poor job performance.

To-date, it has not been clarified by either the former President or any of his staunch backers of criminal pack of party kingpins at the Adabraka, Accra, Corporate Headquarters of the National Democratic Congress, whether once the abandoned Vice-Presidential Mansion had been completed by the Mahama regime, His Kleptocratic Majesty, Yagbonwura Okogufuo Kwame Gonja, would then not use this as a quite reasonable excuse to cannibalize the present Official Residence of the Vice-President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana.

There is also something curious to underscore here; and it is the fact that in the wake of the “mysterious” passing of the then-Incumbent President John Evans Atta-Mills, the latter’s handpicked Presidential Right-Hand Man never physically moved into the Official Residence of the Substantive President of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana. He continued to flagrantly flout the rules of the land, as it were, by remaining in his official Vice-President’s residence, neither would he allow his extant Vice-President, the late Mr. Papa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, to follow the statutorily established residential pecking order. In simple English, this is a man who has absolutely no respect for the laws of our land. It also strikingly provides us with some hints vis-à-vis the fact of whether, indeed, Professor Mills, as the former tax-law expert of the University of Ghana, Legon, was also affectionately known and called, had, indeed, transitioned into eternity as a result of natural causes, as some Ghanaians have been craftily led into believing.

We cannot possibly put a morally sensitive and law-abiding people like ourselves, for the most part, under the charge and the authority of an unindicted possible murderer who publicly and euphorically celebrated the abrupt passing of his immediate boss as an auspicious and an opportune gift from of a sagaciously inscrutable Divine Providence, whose sole purpose for doing so was to simply coronate Kwame Gonja as the First Postcolonial-Born President of Ghana. Let’s face it: Candidate-General “Gnassingbe” Dramani Mahama is far more dangerous to the security and the dignity of Ghanaians and global humanity than such globally maligned dictators as North Korea’s President Kim Jong-un, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, to name just a handful.

The foregoing argument is absolutely in no way a cynical justification of the fiscal infidelities of some cabinet and executive appointees of the present Akufo-Addo Administration. Rather, it is to simply underscore the fact that it is not as if the operatives of the previous Mahama regime have not been comfortably cooling their heels in opposition and peacefully enjoying their loot, including the dozens of Judgment-Debt Rackets deliberately and criminally rigged up by the Mahama-appointed Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, with the collusive and the collaborative complicity of the publicly self-confessed hopelessly payola-addicted former President John “European Airbus Payola” Dramani Mahama.

It is very instructive to recall the fact that the afore-hinted European Airbus Scandal, in which “Government Official Number Two,” publicly and specifically identified by then-Independent Special Prosecutor Martin ABK Amidu as Mr. John Dramani Mahama, at the time of the commission of the crime Vice-President of the Atta-Mills-led and the National Democratic Congress-sponsored government, was forensically and incontrovertibly alleged to have taken the “palm-greasing” sum of €5 million – that is approximately GH₡70 million – in exchange for the criminal inflation of the prices of some three military aircraft meant for the official use of active-duty personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces, in a noncompetitive bidding purchase or purchases, that Attorney-General Appiah-Oppong and Mr. Alexander Segbefia, the extant Mahama-appointed Health Minister, fiercely and scandalously defended their boss and paymaster by daftly insisting that the criminal demand and the acceptance of the aforesaid €5 million payola sum had absolutely in no way affected the purchasing price or prices of the aforesaid military aircraft.

Now, the most relevant and significant, as well as logical, question to ask Martin Amidu is the following: “Why is our self-proclaimed Citizen Vigilante not apparently worried that former President Mahama and his aforementioned ministerial appointees may very well be cooling their heels and comfortably enjoying their loot, in spite of the fact of the Mahama Posse’s having twice decisively lost their electoral bid to be returned to Jubilee House?” Are we to interpret the preceding to be implying that, somehow, under the watch and the tenure of the Akufo-Addo-led government of the New Patriotic Party, the supposedly evenhanded tentacles of the law and judicial justice no longer apply?

In other words, in the scheme of justice, at least as apparently perceived by our Citizen Vigilante, the laws of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana only apply when National Democratic Congress-sponsored governments are at the helm of our national affairs. Now, what kind of visceral absurdity is this? Occasionally, the critically thinking reader begins to wonder whether Martin Amidu is really communicating in the English language or the rabidly anti-Akufo-Addo critic simply fancies himself to be standing before an audience of largely untutored Frafra-language speakers.

You see, one does not need even a kindergarten-graduate degree or certificate to arrive at the all too commonsensical conclusion that no serious political party in any serious democratic culture anywhere in the world would present a grossly and unspeakably incompetent also-run politician like the twice-defeated former President Mahama as its model or ideal notion of the quintessential and emulative postindustrial or Digital-Age Leader. In another country where the overwhelming majority of the rank-and-file membership of Ghana’s main opposition political party, the National Democratic Congress, had a collective Intelligence Quotient (IQ) of 49 or borderline retaliation, trust me, Dear Reader, a Mahama-led political party would have since time immemorial completely collapsed, with only members of this pathological nation-wrecker’s family left standing on a line at one of the Bole-Bamboi polling stations, in the West-Gonja District of the Akufo-Addo-created Savannah Region, come December 7, 2024. Fellow Ghanaians, did we go or did we come?
