Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, the Head of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has asserted that the party's primary focus, if elected into power, will be to improve the economic well-being of Ghanaians.
Tamakloe emphasised that the current hardships faced by the public under the Akufo-Addo-led government are intolerable, and the NDC is committed to ensuring Ghanaians experience economic satisfaction under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama.
In an interview with the media, Tamakloe expressed the party's dedication to alleviating the financial burdens faced by citizens, stating, "We want to focus on getting the pockets of Ghanaians loaded.
“Once people have money, they can do many other things with the support of the state; critical is the 24-hour policy proposal."
The NDC's proposed 24-hour economy policy has been highlighted as a critical component of its strategy to enhance economic conditions for Ghanaians.
Tamakloe assured that the NDC's next government would be people-centric, emphasising the implementation of Mahama's 24-hour economy policy as a cornerstone of their economic agenda.
"As you are aware, we already have the People’s Manifesto, the 2020 manifesto of the NDC. What we are doing is that from 2020 till date, there have been a lot of interventions.
“And so, we want to have a situation where we can engage researchers, persons from academia, and experts to help shape these policy programs and proposals we put out before Ghanaians in the year 2020, to firm them up for the 2024 elections, so that we will come out with a workable document Ghanaians generally will accept," Tamakloe explained.
