Kwesi Pratt, the Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper has expressed his discontent with the appointment of Dan Botwe as the Campaign Chairman for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The announcement of the campaign team members was made recently, with Dan Botwe leading the charge.

Other notable members included in the team are Nana Akomea, the Chief Executive Officer of the State Transport Corporation and former National Communications Director of the NPP, and Fred Oware, former First Vice-Chairman of the party, who has been appointed as Deputy Chairman.

The campaign advisory committee boasts prominent figures such as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ex-President J.A Kufour, former National Chairman of the NPP Freddie Blay, and Joyce Aryee, among others.

Kwesi Pratt, sharing his thoughts on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show raised eyebrows over the inclusion of Dan Botwe in the team.

He praised Dan Botwe's calm and non-confrontational nature in handling matters, questioning the wisdom behind selecting someone who, in his view, is not aggressive.

"Bawumia is really a guy. He intentionally chose Dan Botwe because he is not troublesome," Pratt remarked, emphasizing Dan Botwe's tendency to avoid instigating conflicts.

With a touch of humor, he expressed, "I'm not too happy about that. I mean, how can we face him squarely?

“In fact, he won't even give you the opportunity to face him because it is not in his nature to cause conflicts...Bawumia has tricked us."

Despite his reservations about Dan Botwe's appointment, Kwesi Pratt commended Dr Bawumia for promptly announcing his campaign team, noting that there was no need for unnecessary delays.

"Dr. Bawumia deserves commendation," Pratt concluded during the discussion on the morning show.
