AYo Intermediaries Ghana, partners launch ‘Pay & Drive' motor insurance

AYo Ghana, a subsidiary of MTN Group, has launched a new flexible motor insurance product in partnership with Sanlam Insurance Ghana Ltd, Mobile Money and MTN Ghana.

Called 'Pay & Drive', the policy allows drivers to purchase coverage for their vehicles on a weekly or monthly basis, addressing the evolving needs of motorists in Ghana.

The launch event held at the MTN house in Accra on Wednesday, February 21, saw speeches from Francis Gota, CEO of AYo Ghana, Mabel Nana Nyarkoa Porbley, MD/CEO of Sanlam General Insurance and others.

Mr. Gota spoke of AYo's mission to redefine insurance delivery and increase penetration through technology and innovation.

“This policy has been meticulously crafted with the needs of our customers in mind," he said, citing drivers of multiple vehicles, ride-hailing operators, and those who cannot afford annual premiums upfront.

On her part, Nana Nyarkoa Porbley echoed that the product design was based on understanding customer challenges.

“We have taken deliberate efforts over time to understand the desires and challenges of our customers, and therefore we know this is a product that they’ll love and own," she said.

Nana Nyarkoa Porbley stressed that service will be digitally-enabled but also backed by "a brilliant and ready to serve customer service team."

Key features of 'Pay & Drive' include flexible coverage periods, instant quotes, a paperless purchase process and 24/7 access to claims assistance.

The 'Pay & Drive' policy allows motorists to purchase weekly, monthly or annual coverage customized to their vehicle use.
