Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God’s Way church, has expressed displeasure with United Television (UTV), accusing the network of disseminating false information about him without verification.

The religious leader revealed that if it were not for his close relationship with Dr. Ofori Sarpong, a relative, and the owner of UTV, Osei Kwame Despite, he would have pursued legal action against the network for defamation.

This was in reaction to an incident where UTV aired news about Bishop Obinim based on a video sent by an unidentified source, without reaching out to him for clarification.

In a video shared by OB TV and reposted by entertainment blogger Zionfelix, Bishop Obinim expressed his frustration with UTV.

"I am aware that UTV broadcasted false news about me. If it weren't for Dr. Ofori Sarpong, who is my brother and a close family member, I would have taken severe action against UTV.

“I am aware of his friendship with Kwame Despite as well," stated Bishop Obinim.

He criticized UTV for failing to verify the information from him or Dr. Ofori Sarpong, who could have confirmed their relationship before airing the news.

Bishop Obinim did not specify the particular false news that led to his dissatisfaction, but he has been vocal about addressing inaccuracies and attacks on his character by certain individuals and media outlets.

As of now, UTV has not reacted to Bishop Obinim's allegations of spreading false news about him.
