Martin Amidu’s UDS’ “2024 Harmattan School” dissertation strikingly reflects the theme of its seasonal presentation, if also because it is factually arid and vacuous and historically and politically jejune and callow, to speak much less about the patently and irredeemably bankrupt. For example, the inveterate Akufo-Addo critic claims that the widely known and acknowledged National Democratic Congress-sponsored #FixTheCountry populist propaganda machine, masqueraded as a Civil Society Organization (CSO), whose lead convener, so-called, is Mr. Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the notorious diehard Trokosi Secessionist and Card-Carrying member of the country’s main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is “a nonpartisan and nonpolitical civic movement [founded] by Ghanaian youths.”
Precisely what breed and/or caliber of Ghanaian youths, the man who royally bungled the prosecution of the alleged killers of the Supreme Overlord of the Ancient Dagbon Kingdom in Yendi, in the Northern Region, Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani, II, in 2002 or thereabouts, also deliberately misinforms his University for Development Studies (UDS) audience of students, administrators, faculty members and notable community leaders and activists that Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the National Democratic Congress’ Member of Parliament for North-Tongu Constituency, in the NDC stronghold of the Volta Region, is a respectable and a credible watchdog of the Akufo-Addo-led government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who has been vigilantly focused on the tail of the thoroughgoing corrupt Leopard of Akyem-Abomosu, by promptly, righteously and fearlessly exposing rank corruption in what the kleptocratic NDC parliamentarians and political scam-artists have cynically tagged as “The Friends and Family Government.”
And, by the way, we also wanted to remind those of our readers who may have so soon forgotten the same that in the prosecution of the globally infamous and unspeakably barbaric decapitation of Yaa-Naa Yakubu Andani, II, the Lead Prosecutor and former Attorney-General Martin Amidu had despicably caused to be rounded up a purported criminal suspect who, it scandalously turned out, was barely a toddler of four years old at the time of the grisly and the unspeakably barbaric murder of the Dagbon Supreme Overlord and at least some 40 courtiers.
In short, our unmistakable contention here is that the widely alleged cantankerous native from the Upper-East Region clearly lacks the requisite credibility and moral authority to make any politically worthwhile case of rank official corruption against either any individual member or the entire corporate establishment of the present Akufo-Addo government. You see, the readily verifiable fact of the matter is that Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is a bona fide inner-circle member of the kleptocratic Mahama Posse who once got his own butler or houseboy arrested for having stolen the ginormous liquid-cash sum of $30K (USD), that the Tongu-North’s legislator dubiously claimed to have stashed under a rug in the trunk of his.
As of this writing, Mr. Ablakwa had yet to credibly or plausibly explain to the members of the general Ghanaian public precisely how he came by or stashed such a humongous amount of liquid cash in the trunk of his car, much less how he had arrived at the rather strange decision that keeping such a huge amount of liquid cash in the trunk of his car was either more secure or even the most appropriate thing to do for a professionally trained and politically influential lawyer to do, than having the same legally and morally responsibly deposited in his bank account, where the same amount could accrue interest over time and be legally taxed for the crucial purpose of our collective national development.
Now, this is the veritable political scam-artist that Mr. Martin Amidu would have Ghanaian voters and citizens believe is worthy of their heroic acclamation, trust and executive and/or legislative mandate. And, by the way, Mr. Ablakwa would allegedly inform the police that the $30K (USD) vanished from the trunk of his car after he had asked his houseboy to take the car for a cleanup at a car wash. His decision to heap profuse encomiums on the kleptocratic Mr. Ablakwa, at the expense of the relatively far more progressive operatives of the present Akufo-Addo government, ought to tell Ghanaian citizens more about the caliber and the moral temperament and choices of the self-described “Citizen Vigilante.”
It is also downright ludicrous to hear Mr. Amidu scandalously assert that Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, the Rawlings-appointed and longest-serving Chairperson of the Ghana Electoral Commission (EC), is the best qualified person to have held this very adult and most sensitive job. On the latter count, we are, once again, forced to lay bare the curiously and mutually kept secret between the very top leadership of both of the country’s major two political parties, namely, the presently ruling New Patriotic Party and the country's main opposition National Democratic Congress, that it was smack under the watch of Dr. Afari-Gyan that the very destiny and the democratic culture of our beloved Sovereign Democratic Republic of Ghana was cheaply sold to an Israeli-based IT Company by the name of STL.
For those of our readers who may not have already heard or learned the same, it was because of the historically auspicious and the merit-based appointment and the swearing-in of Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa, on August 2, 2018, as Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, that culminated, once again, in Ghanaian citizens being able to redeem themselves from the morally unspeakable and the civically unpardonable postcolonial enslavement by the kleptocratic and the reprobate and the unconscionable leadership of the National Democratic Congress. The harrowing and morally depraved STL Story needs to be fully told to all Ghanaian citizens and voters in the leadup to the 2024 General Election, for us to be able to make the most well-informed decision vis-à-vis the choice of which of our two leading 2024 Presidential Candidates, namely, Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia and Candidate-General John “Gnassingbe” Dramani Mahama, genuinely deserves to be afforded the mandate of the Ghanaian electorate.
