Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Deputy Minority Leader in parliament has told Vice President Bawumia to prepare and leave together with his boss, President Akufo-Addo whose tenure ends on January 7, 2025.
He said they should pave way for former President John Mahama to take over the country's affairs because they have failed Ghanaians.
The opposition lawmaker said in a post via X on Thursday, February 8, that "it is time for both the failed driver [Akufo-Addo] and his mate [Bawumia] to gracefully exit the scene together."
The Ellembele MP castigated Dr. Bawumia for describing himself as a 'mate' during his first major speech as NPP flagbearer on Wednesday.
According to Armah-Kofi Buah, "Irrefutably, Vice President Bawumia is largely responsible for the economic doldrums our dear country miserably finds itself in."
He insisted Bawumia cannot dissociate himself from the poor economic performance under President Akufo-Addo despite attempts "to extricate himself from the mess they have collectively plunged the country into."
"Ghanaians are discerning enough to not buy into such a disingenuous message from a vice president battling with a credibility crisis,” he added.
According to him, NDC flagbearer "John Mahama is the leader you can trust. Experience not experiment" so Ghanaians should vote for him on December 7.
