NPP Governments' Projects And Initiatives In The North East Region That Never Existed

As the various political parties in Ghana lase their boots for the December 7 general elections, this write-up concentrates on the unprecedented initiatives and projects that never existed in the North East Region had it not been the governments of the great political party, *The New Patriotic Party (NPP).* This write-up seeks to set the record straight that NPP governments over the years have successfully executed gargantuan initiatives and projects in the North East Region than any other political party governments under the Fourth Republic.

First of all, the name North East Region that exist today never existed. The government of Nana/Bawumia saw the need to give the good people of Mamprugu Kingdom a region, hence the creation of *The North East Region.* The region has come with great benefits to the chiefs and people of the area and generations unborn. The numerous development projects springing up are just the tip of the iceberg. The North East Region has come to stay, courtesy of Nana/Bawumia and NPP government. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional executives are beneficiaries of the newly created North East Region because without the region there would not have been regional executives.

Another project that exist but never existed and wouldn't have even existed at all in the North East Region is the *Medical Drone Delivery Center* in Vobsi, near Walewale. This medical drone delivery center supplies essential medicines, vaccines and blood products to the whole Northern Ghana. It is lives saving initiative that was initiated by the great son of the region, in the person of *H. E. Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,* the Vice President of Ghana, who doubles as the leader and flag bearer of the NPP. This project would not have even existed as I indicated because the NDC did not think it was possible. With their mindset of impossibilities, they thought drone was only meant for taking pictures, hence, the famous statement by NDC national executive that the drone will be capturing the nakedness of women in bathrooms. Dr. Bawumia whose mindset is full of possibilities followed through his plans and Ghana is now the largest medical drone delivery service in the world.

North East Region can now boast of *Three Astro Turfs and counting.* The area has never dreamt of having one because the whole Ghana before 2017 had only three Astro Turfs. The region can now boast of Astro Turfs in Walewale, Kperiga and Nalerigu, The North East Regional Capital. And steadily progressing are Yagaba and Cheriponi Astro Turfs. Meanwhile, Yunyo and Bunkpurugu Astro Turfs are on the pipeline. The development of the youth of the region is dear to the government of Nana/Bawumia, hence, these unprecedented sports infrastructure for the youth. NPP indeed is a party that believes in Development in Freedom. There is no single political party in Ghana with this record in the North East Region aside the great NPP with great men and women incharge.

Again, projects that never existed in the region but for the governments of the NPP are the *College of Nursing and Midwifery, Nalerigu* and the *College of Nursing, Midwifery and Public Health, Yagaba.* It is refreshing to state that another College of Nursing and Midwifery in the West Mamprusi Municipality will this year start admitting students if all things being equal. The good people of North East Region, if we do not want this, what do we really want? More development will come to the region if we massively rally behind the leader and flag bearer of the NPP, H. E. Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. The first ever university we are yearning for will follow suit.

Finally on my list is the newly constructed *Fire Academy and Training School* in Wungu - Walewale. One does not need anyone to tell him or her that the school is one of it's kind in Northern Ghana. It is expected to be commissioned by the visionary and highly competent Vice President of Ghana, H. E. Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia today, 19th January, 2024. The school never existed but for the Nana/Bawumia administration, some potential fire officers will now be trained in Wungu, North East Region. It is obviously clear that NPP will win any argument any day over the NDC in the region so far as unprecedented development projects and initiatives are concerned.

The good people of the North East Region, you definitely know the party to support in the incoming general elections in December this year. The party that have delivered great projects and initiatives to the region. The party your humble son, *H. E. Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia* is leading at the moment. That is, The New Patriotic Party. Kindly show Dr. Bawumia your massive support and love, for you have every reason to support him and the NPP. The NPP governments over the years have delivered exceptionally well and breaking the eight is possible with your support.
