The more NDC attack Bawumia, the more their members exit the party — North East NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the North East Region has said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has become unattractive due to its sustained attacks on Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

At a press conference on Sunday, December 10, the NPP's North East Regional Communications Director, Amos Walibe, said the frequent criticisms of Dr Bawumia by the NDC were having the reverse effect where more members from the opposition party are exiting.

"This is because the more they attack the Vice President and the flagbearer of the NPP, the more they infuriate their colleagues and NDC supporters to want to desert the party," Mr Walibe stated.

He claimed the NDC's fortunes in the region are dwindling rapidly following Dr Bawumia's elevation as the NPP's presidential candidate for the 2024 elections.

In response to claims made by the NDC at their press conference last week, Mr Walibe said "It has become abundantly clear that the NDC in the North East Region is facing an imminent extinction."

Mr Walibe's comments come after the NDC accused Dr Bawumia of failing the people of the North East Region and demanded he render an apology.

But the NPP says the creation of the region alone shows Dr. Bawumia has delivered, unlike NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama who couldn't give them the region they had long desired despite many promises.
