The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is strategizing to defeat former President John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 elections for the third consecutive time, according to comments made by President Akufo-Addo's lawyer.

Kow Essuman, who is the legal counsel to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said via X on Friday, December 8, that the NPP is focusing its efforts on the grassroots to win the elections.

"The job dey grounds, and that be where we dey. Strategy is what will win the next election for @NPP_GH and we are strategising and implementing our strategy," he said.

Mr. Essuman predicted that by this time next year, Mr. Mahama would have conceded defeat to NPP's presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia after results would show the latter cruising to victory.

"Next year by this time, Prez Mahama would have received the distressing news for a third consecutive time. He will be staring at his television screen, another comfortable lead into a loss and @potokunor shouting “tsoobooii... DJ bo yen ndwom”.

"Meanwhile, the meticulous collation machinery of the NPP would have followed the vote to ensure that @MBawumia wins the election with a parliamentary majority. Prez Mahama will hear the words, “President-elect Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.” Will he congratulate Dr. Bawumia? Your guess is as good as mine," he added.

The NPP is seeking to secure a third consecutive electoral victory —a feat that would be the first in the nation’s history since independence.

However, the NDC through one-time President John Dramani Mahama who has been accusing the current government of mismanagement is also poised to win power again and revive the country.
