Former President John Dramani Mahama has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain united in their quest to regain power in the 2024 elections.
Mahama, who is the NDC's flagbearer for 2024, congratulated the party's newly inaugurated Council of Elders in a Facebook post on Monday.
He stressed the importance of party unity and strength going into the next elections.
"I am confident that working together, the NDC will continue to be a strong and unified force and bring Ghana the deserved change in 2024," Mahama wrote in a Facebook post on Monday, December 4.
The former leader noted that with the wisdom and experience of the Council of Elders, as well as the contributions of all members, "the NDC will remain a strong and unified force."
Mahama is hoping that this unity and strength will help the NDC "bring Ghana the desired change" that many Ghanaians have reportedly been looking for.
Going into the 2024 polls, Mahama will capitalise on the discontent with the current economic challenges to galvanize support for the NDC.
