President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stands as the only force capable of bringing progress and prosperity to every corner of Ghana.
Speaking in the aftermath of the NPP's parliamentary primaries in orphan constituencies held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, the President emphasized the party's track record.
Acknowledging the current challenges faced by the nation, President Akufo-Addo asserted, "With our record in office, we are the Party that can bring progress and prosperity to all parts of our country."
Encouraging unity among the winners and losers, the President urged the successful candidates to extend a generous hand to their colleagues and actively engage them in their campaigns to secure victory.
He underlined the importance of building a united and formidable front, emphasizing the leadership competence of the party's new presidential candidate, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
“Through this, we shall create the united, formidable front that, under the leadership of our new, worthy presidential candidate, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will enable us to go into the difficult 2024 elections with quiet confidence, and, with the help of Almighty God, Break the Eight, which is the fervent wish of all NPP members, and, indeed, of all well-meaning Ghanaians,” the President said.
In his congratulatory message, the President commended the efforts of national, regional, constituency, electoral area, and polling station officers and the entire membership of the NPP, for their role in ensuring a free, fair, transparent and credible primaries.
