Nii Lante Bannerman, a New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidate aspirant in the Odododiodio constituency, Greater Accra Region has said delegates should be appreciated for their efforts in travelling to vote during party primaries.

In an interview with journalists on Saturday, December 2, as NPP holds primaries in "orphan constituencies" where it does not currently have sitting MPs, Bannerman stated that there is nothing wrong with providing transportation for delegates.

"I don't think it is out of place to give transportation to any delegate, the amount involved should be the problem," he said.

Bannerman stressed that as delegates come from all over the constituency to cast their ballots, their efforts should be recognized and supported.

"So as delegates are coming from all over to come and vote for you, at least you should appreciate them with some lunch and some transportation," he noted.

The parliamentary candidate expressed confidence in winning the NPP primary again.

"This is not my first time, I have come to two elections and I have succeeded in all, especially the primaries. So, I don't think this is different," Bannerman told reporters.
