Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has waded into the ongoing conversations surrounding the search for a Running Mate for NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama.
As the party gears up for next year’s elections, the choice of a running mate remains a critical decision, and names like Julius Debrah and Sylvester Mensah have emerged as potential candidates.
During an interview on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, Allotey Jacobs expressed his support for Julius Debrah, the former Chief of Staff, as the suitable candidate for the running mate slot.
According to Jacobs, Mr Debrah has proven his worth in the NDC and played a crucial role as a bridge between the party and government.
"When I was then in that party, we saw him as a bridge between the party and the government. In fact, he is so loved by the party members.
“This 24/7 policy they want to bring, Julius was already doing 24/7. Looking at his status as Chief of Staff, when you call him and book a date, he will meet you.
“I mean that's the essence of being a party leader or being in government and relating to the grassroots," Allotey Jacobs emphasised.
