National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has reacted to the salute given to Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta by civil servants at the Ministry after his 2024 Budget Presentation on Wednesday, November 15.
In videos that have gone viral on social media, the Finance Minister is seen arriving at the Ministry as workers at the Ministry lined up outside to sing and cheer him on.
Reacting to the video, Sammy Gyamfi said what happened is proof that Ghana is now in total leadership paralysis.
He said the action of the workers is an insult to the sensibilities of Ghanaians who have been left to suffer under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
“After mismanaging Ghana’s economy and plunging the country into a self-inflicted debt crisis, with hyperinflation, high unemployment, unbearable lending rates and excruciating hardships, the failed Finance Minister decided to compel civil servants to abandon their posts during working hours to salute and cheer him up after presenting a hopeless budget to the Parliament of Ghana.
"What an insult to the sensibilities of suffering Ghanaians. This is how low we have sunk as a country; total leadership paralysis. My heart bleeds for Ghana,” Sammy Gyamfi said in a post on X, formerly X.
