In the wake of Alan Kyerematen's departure from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and his decision to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 general elections, another prominent figure from his camp has declared support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Dickson Adomako Kissi, the Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom constituency, who was a staunch supporter of Alan Kyerematen's bid to become the NPP's flagbearer and had played a pivotal role in Kyerematen's campaign team has switched camp.
In explaining his decision, Adomako Kissi referenced the recent developments within the NPP and Kyerematen's departure from the party.
Adomako Kissi acknowledged these developments and decided to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who currently aspires to be the NPP’s Presidential flagbearer.
"As it stands, the most likely option for me will be to support the Vice President in a way.
“I will vote for the Vice President; I think that will be the most appropriate thing," Adomako Kissi stated during an interview on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show.
