Professor Smart Sarpong, a Senior Research Fellow at Kumasi Technical University, has offered valuable advice to the two major political parties in Ghana to be aware of the last-minute campaigns and works that can influence electoral outcomes.
He cautions the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Smart Sarpong not to assume electoral victory ahead of the elections based on certain signals.
During an interview on Peace FM's “Kokrokoo” morning show, Prof. Smart Sarpong stated that "Politically, the elections are in the future for us, so it cannot be lost in the past."
Prof. Smart Sarpong directed his advice to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which, he observed, might be tempted to believe they have already won the 2024 elections due to the economic challenges.
He strongly urged the NDC not to become complacent or take for granted the outcome of the upcoming elections based on current circumstances, stating, "Let not NDC be complacent about such comments that the election has been lost already.
“The elections are in the future and even a single day can cause a lot of change."
