Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has made a wild allegation against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Identification Authority (NIA).
Gbande claimed that foreign nationals, particularly Nigerians, have been coerced and registered by the NIA to obtain Ghana Cards with the apparent intention of securing Voters' ID cards to vote for NPP in the 2024 general elections.
During an interview on NEAT FM's “Ghana Montie” morning show monitored by ModernGhana News, Mustapha Gbande made this assertion, although failed to provide concrete evidence to support his claims.
He repeatedly asserted that the NPP and the NIA were colluding to manipulate the 2024 elections.
“The NPP and the NIA are in bed and are registering Nigerians for the Ghana card with the aim of the EC registering them for our voters' ID cards,” Gbande claimed.
