'President' Bawumia will now ensure farmers are served better — Obiri Boahen

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is also set to announce a new cocoa price should he win the New Patriotic Party (NPP)'s flag bearer ship race and subsequently become President of the Republic.

According to NPP leading member, Nana Obiri Boahen, the condition of cocoa farmers in Ghana will improve under the presidency of the next NPP government under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia.

"When Dr. Bawumia becomes President, I am sure there will be another upward adjustment of the farm gate price of cocoa beans per bag for the new cocoa season," Nana Obiri Boahen assured farmers in Jinjin, Drobo and Berekum in the Bono Region.

The outspoken lawyer who is a staunch supporter of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's presidential bid during his one-man campaign tour to the region was optimistic that NPP delegates would vote for Dr. Bawumia to lead the party to the 2024 polls.

"I am driving the Mamprusi train to campaign for Dr. Bawumia. I'll do Wa, Hamile and other places. I am going to pay a courtesy to Wa-Naa and other prominent chiefs. And ask for the spirits of our ancestors to solidly rally behind Dr. Bawumia.

"I aim to ensure that Dr. Bawumia beats other contenders convincingly. After, he will have our full support to lead us to break the 8," Nana Obiri Boahen stated.
