ONE OF THE presidential aspirants of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Kobina Arthur Kennedy has commended President John Agyekum Kufuor for his good governance.

He said President Kufuor had done a lot for the country in the areas of education, health and the economy, which Ghanaians had to appreciate.

Dr Kennedy said this on Saturday when he donated a computer and its accessories to the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District office of the NPP at Abura Dunkwa in the Central Region.

The donation was in fulfillment of a promise he made to the party last year when he visited the office to declare his intention to lead the party in 2008.

Dr. Kennedy emphasised the need for Government officials to respect party executives since they got their position through hard work.

He said when he gets the nod to lead the party in the 2008 elections, he would institute a compassionate fund to help sustain party members.

The presidential hopeful said there was the need for Ghanaians to vote for the Fantes in the presidential race since three of them had been vice presidents of the country, despite the intense poverty in the region.

The NPP Constituency Chairman, Mr Kwame Kumah was happy that someone from the AAK District was contesting the presidential race and commended Dr Kennedy for the bold decision he had taken to seek the presidential ticket of the party.

A founding member of NPP in the Central Region, Lawyer Spio said the 2008 general elections was going to be very competitive and advised the public to vote for someone who had the welfare of Ghanaians at heart.
