Ghana's AshantiGold failed to glitter in Rabat as the Miners crashed out of the MTN/CAF Champions League last Saturday.

AshantiGold lost 6-7 on penalties after eight kicks as their hosts forced the game into spot kicks when they cancelled the Miners' 2-0 lead from the first leg.

The Miners thus miss out of the million-dollar prize in the MTN/CAF Champions League after failing to go past FAR Rabat of Morocco Saturday evening in Rabat.

Two first half goals by FAR Rabat sent the game into spot kicks and the Miners yet again could not produce the winning touch.

AshantiGold reached the final of the first revamped Champions League in 1997, losing a penalty shootout to Raja Casablanca in Morocco after both clubs triumphed 1-0 at home.
