The Minister for Defence, Dr Kwame Addo Kufuor, has appealed to the in - coming Swiss Ambassador to Ghana to consider sponsoring any peace-keeping course as part of Switzerland's assistance to the Kofi Annan International Peace - keeping Training Centre.
The Minister made this statement at a courtsey call on him by the outgoing Swiss Ambassador, His Excellency Mr George Zubler yesterday, in Accra.
In his farewell address, the Minister wished the outgoing Ambassador all the best in his new appointment as his country's Ambassador to Ukraine.
The outgoing Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Mr George Zubler, congratulated the Minister on the impressive performance of his Ministry during Ghana's 50th Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
He also thanked the Minister for empowering his men in maintaining peace in war-torn countries like Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire and other disaster prone areas in Africa.
His Excellency, Zubler, is due to leave Ghana on 23rd March 2007.
