Watch This, Akwasi Aboagye

I would like to draw the attention of the host of Entertainment Review, an entertainment show on Peace FM to a few lapses in his presentation.

Whoever initiated the programme ought to be commended because other radio stations running similar programmes lost focus along the line.

Entertainment Review is a programme which airs every Saturday between 1 p.m. and 3p.m. It is hosted by Akwasi Aboagye.

It discusses entertainment related issues from newspapers and on few ocassions, other issues from the production team.

Although it is in its formative stage, the show has already won thousands of listeners. I, however think that there are some lapses that should be looked at.

I have observed that the host pelts his listeners with so many topics. Because he gets the topics from the newspapers without any difficulty, he thinks he can discuss every issue bordering on entertainment on a day's show.

At the end of the day, panellists do not get enough time to fully digest issues.

What is the essence of discussing titbits at the beginning of the programme while an avalanche of topics are on board for discussion?

It will be better he selects a maximum of three hit topics for discussion each week.

I do not want to believe it is his new style of presentation but Akwasi becomes too passionate over certain issues that he ends up being a host cum panellist.

Akwasi Aboagye should also give his listeners ample time to opine on issues on board for discussion through the phone and the text lines because there are entertainment enthusiasts out there ready to contribute to the programme.

Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, a budding entertainment journalist who happens to be a regular panellist on the programme is a good critic and analyst but makes bleak analysis on issues relating to music with respect to its rudiments and technicalities.
