The leadership of the People’s National Convention (PNC) has issued a press release to kick against attempts by suspended General Secretary Janet Nabla to organise Constituency and Regional Conferences.
In its press release, the PNC leadership stressed that Janet Nabla has no locus to organise or supervise the party’s internal elections.
“The PNC has taken notice of the subtle and surreptitious attempts by the suspended General Secretary, Madam Janet Nabla to organise and supervise Constituency and Regional Conferences as part of a supposed reorganisation process of the party.
“Leadership is compelled by her belligerent posture to issue this statement for the attention of the members and executives of the PNC as well as the general public to disregard her as she is on suspension and does not have the power or locus to be engaged in what she is purporting to be doing,” parts of the release from the leadership of PNC said.
While admitting that Janet Nabla’s suspension is being dealt with in court, PNC leadership warns that the outcome of any election that will be supervised by the suspended General Secretary will be null, void, and without effect.
Below is a copy of the PNC press release:
For Immediate Release
23/08/23
JANET NABLA HAS NO LOCUS TO ORGANISE OR SUPERVISE PNC INTERNAL ELECTIONS
The PNC has taken notice of the subtle and surreptitious attempts by the suspended General Secretary, Madam Janet Nabla to organise and supervise Constituency and Regional Conferences as part of a supposed reorganisation process of the party.
Leadership is compelled by her belligerent posture to issue this statement for the attention of the members and executives of the PNC as well as the general public to disregard her as she is on suspension and does not have the power or locus to be engaged in what she is purporting to be doing.
Recall that in September 2021, the leadership of the party acting on the report of the Disciplinary Committee of the Party took a unanimous decision to suspend her as General Secretary for gross misconduct and dereliction of duty. Since then, no decision has been taken to revoke that suspension.
As such, the PNC through this statement admonishes all and sundry not to deal with her on matters concerning the party as she is only seeking to destroy the fortunes of the party through her selfishness, arrogance and disrespect for authority.
As unfortunate as the situation might be, the matter of her suspension is still in court and is yet to be determined. Following from this, Janet Nabla cannot supervise any elections in the party and any outcome of her purported supervision and election of executives is null, void and without effect as she stands suspended.
