The chief of the Shai Osuduku in the Greater Accra region, Alhaji Alhassan Latif Lugsana has urged some Muslim men to desist from abusing their wives and children physically and emotionally.
In an interview with this reporter, the Dagomba Chief stated that several Muslim women and children are facing several abuses at home.
According to him, a report from the Shai Osudoku District Police shows increasing cases of abuse of women by Muslim men.
Alhaji Alhassan Latif Lugsana Dagomba calls on all Muslim men, no matter their financial status, to avoid maltreating their wives and children.
He noted that Muslim communities need to embrace and respect each others' rights, especially women and girls.
Alhaji Alhassan Latif Lugsana indicated that such actions continue to tarnish the image of the Islamic religion as Muslims are often seen as abusive people.
He further calls on benevolent individuals and organisations to help fix some of the infrastructures and other challenges that have been facing Muslims in the Shai Osudoku community and its environs.
