'Eleven Wise' beat 'Hasaacas'

Old players of Sekondi Eleven Wise on Monday beat their Hasaacas counterparts 2-1 in a friendly match at Sekondi Gyandu Park as part of activities to mark the 50th Independence celebrations.

The match was organized by the Sekondi Youth Association and the Shama-Ahanta East Metropolitan Assembly as part of the activities in the Metropolis. Ironically it was Egya Awuah of the Hasaacas Old players who shot his side into the lead in the fifth minute of the game.

Johnson Smith of the Old Players of Eleven Wise got the equalizer in the 45th minute while Ben Hayford followed up with the match winning goal in the 50th minute.

Mr. Philip Kwesi Nkrumah, the Metropolitan Chief Executive presented a trophy and a cash of two million cedis which was donated by Papa Owusu Ankomah, Member of Parliament for Sekondi to the Old Players of Eleven Wise.

He also presented 500,000 cedis cash as consolation prize to the Old Players of Hasaacas
In a Sekondi community gala competition, Mighty Leaders beat Sekondi Zongo 3-0 on penalty shoot out and received 400,000 cedis cash and a trophy.
