The former member of parliament for Adenta Constituency and the spokesperson for the Alan Campaign Team, Hon. Yaw Buaben Asamoa, recently, in reacting to the experienced and dedicated Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, the President in waiting, H. E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's messages to the delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on his campaign tours, said among others that "the Vice President came into this party without contributing a pesewa to the processes of this party and I challenge him to show a receipt, saying that he contributed anything to this party before he was brought in.” Is it not amazing and outrageous to demand for receipt from a person within a period he had no any formal allegiance to a party? Did he, Yaw Buaben Asamoa start to contribute to the party before he joined the party? What kind of warped logic is that? What really, has the Alan's campaign team taken the delegates for? The delegates are reasonable and responsible individuals who can decipher between cheap politics and real politics.
However, this write-up will demonstrate to him and his cohorts that Dr. Bawumia unlike others is a rare breed of individual with special qualities and character who is well positioned to lead the NPP base on his track records with the party, even before he formally joined the party. It is not hidden to the general public the unquantifiable contributions Dr. Bawumia made to the former President J. A. Kufuor's government and by extension, the NPP, even at the time he had no any intention of engaging in active politics.
These are some of the major contributions of the next president of Ghana, H. E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the NPP government under President J. A. Kufuor.
Dr. Bawumia was part of the government technical negotiating team that successfully negotiated for the relief of debt amounting to close to Four Billion Dollars under Highly Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative. Remember, this unsustainable debt was inherited from the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) government, under President J. J. Rawlings. Under the same NPP and President Kufuor's government, Dr. Bawumia was equally part of the government team that negotiated successfully with the United States (US) government on the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Compact, that resulted into massive investments in rural development and in the energy, agriculture, transportation sectors, among others. George Bush Highways is just an example of the benefits of the MCA. The redenomination of the Ghana Cedi under President Kufuor, cannot be mentioned without mentioning the versatile Dr. Bawumia. Dr. Bawumia was a key member of the team that designed and implemented the e-zwich common platform for all financial institutions in Ghana, that enable such institutions to financially transact businesses among themselves with the e-zwich (interoperability). These and many other contributions to the NPP'S government under President Kufuor are testimonies that, Dr. Bawumia contributed immensely to the NPP and Ghana, even before he formally engaged in partisan politics.
The delegates appreciate Dr Bawumia's contributions to the then NPP government under President Kufuor. They also appreciate hIs contributions to the party as a four-time running mate to the then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo and as a Vice President of Ghana under President Nana Akufo-Addo's government. Has Yaw Buaben Asamoa ever asked how the Vice President finances his campaigns, right from 2008 as a running mate till now? He is a former MP, how much did it cost him to run his campaign for that particular constituency alone? Dr. Bawumia has travelled the length and breadth of the country, several times from 2008 to now, campaigning for the party. He is always with the delegates both in normal and challenging times.
The respected delegates are aware that, the nomination forms that, they picked and applied for their various positions they are occupying currently, were paid for by Dr. Bawumia. The delegates are aware that, the recent party cards acquired, were paid for by the ever benevolent Vice President. The respected delegates are aware of the various forms of support Dr Bawumia has rendered to them, right from the polling station to the national levels. The One Hundred and Twenty MPs, who are supporting him, appreciate the great contributions, he has made towards their victories won. Generally, the delegates are aware of his contributions to the party and do not need any 'receipt' from him to vote for him. So, if Yaw Buaben Asamoa doesn't know Dr. Bawumia's contributions to the party, that is his problem.
In conclusion, Yaw Buaben Asamoa should know that, many people fought for the party before his candidate joined it. He should also know that, people were in the party before he, Yaw Buaben joined it and it will continue to be like that, so long as democracy exists. Yaw Buaben should also remember that, Alan contested President Nana Akufo-Addo three times. What was his message? Democracy is not about 'it is my turn'. So, what has changed and 'it is my turn' is now a slogan being championed all over the political market by Alan? The delegates are saying that, they are going to vote for Dr. Bawumia for the unprecedented contributions he has made towards the successes of the party so far. The minds of the delegates are made up and they are ever ready to give Dr. Bawumia the baton to lead the NPP to break the eight, come 2024, hence, any propaganda politicking from any quarters will be dropped into a nearby bin. It is possible.
In Shaa Allah.
Thank you

The good delegates of the Great NPP know what Dr Bawumia has done for the party and will surely vote massively for him. Dr Bawumia stood in for the party when all hopes were lost and others were busy lobbying for international positions, but now they are everywhere wanting to lead same party people they neglected. IT IS POSSIBLE WITH DMB.
