The Head Pastor of the Apostles Mission Church (AMC), Apostle Sam Darko, has appealed to Ghanaians, especially christians to stand up against prostitution which is a disgrace to the society.

He made the appeal at a special prayer church service for the nation as she celebrates the Golden Jubilee. The occasion was also used to bless some marriages in the church at its headquarters at Dawidkrom on the Mamfe-Larteh road in the Eastern Region.

"It is sad, that despite the various diseases linked to indiscriminate sexual practices people still do not care and allow prostitution to be carried out at all levels of society including the house of God, the church.

Apostle Sam Darko said these evil acts have affected the marriage institution leading to sudden deaths, broken homes and contraction of diseases such as HIV/AIDS among others.

"The spirit of prostitution has engulfed the earth and is currently reigning in all spheres of life. As such man has to seek God's deliverance and protection. It is only by obeying and worshipping only God that man can be saved from all punishments associated with prostitution," he said.

Apostle Sam Darko also urged Ghanaians to bury their political, religious and ethic differences and unite as one people with a common destiny.

He said it is only by so doing that together we can develop the nation for the good of all.

"We must be grateful to God who has made it possible for us to enjoy economic and political stability. It is therefore important that we use the prevailing stability to move on to greater heights," he added.
