Students of the University of Ghana, Legon are geared up for a demonstration on Thursday. The students say the intended protest match is against the seeming lag in security arrangements on campus, which has led to several criminal cases being recorded in recent weeks.

The acting President of the Students Representative Council, Mr Tonye Senaya, in an interview with Ghananewstoday, said that the demonstration is expected to yield results, since the student body was tired of dialoguing with authorities.

Mr Tonye Senaya said they have the full backing of lecturers and other members of staff of the university.

Meanwhile, Ghananewstoday sampled students' views about whether or not they will join the demonstration and they expressed divergent views about the need to be part of the planned demonstration on Thursday, over the state of security on their campus.
