‘Mahama’s recklessness caused my uncle’s death, he died of heart attack’ — Owusu Bempah reveals

Ernest Owusu Bempah, the deputy Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is linking former President John Dramani Mahama to the death of his uncle.

He says he normally gets scared whenever he heard Mahama talking about returning to the Presidency.

During an interview on TV3's 'New Day' morning show, he said, “We have a problem. Anytime I wake up in the morning and I see Mahama talking about coming back, I get scared. I feel…I don't know the right words to use.”

Referring to the book (My First Coup d'Etat) authored by Mahama, Mr Bempah claims Mahama's return to government will spell doom for Ghanaians.

“A man wrote to his own book and said that danger lurks around any life decision that he’s taking,” he stated.

He further claimed that any developed country would not consider Mr Mahama a credible leader due to his track record, highlighting the issue of “Dumsor,” a local term used to describe the frequent power outages that occurred during Mahama’s presidency for several years.

He said, “Any developed country will not take this man seriously to come back and lead us again because his track records are there. He put this country into “Dumsor” (power outage) for five years.”

Mr Bempah alleges that his uncle's death was a result of Mahama's reckless handling of the economy.

“My uncle died of a heart attack because of Mahama’s recklessness,” he alleged.
